Receptionists have a unique responsibility for making a good first impression, which can impact the success of Caring Hands Healthcare Centers, Inc. for a long time. Typically, they are the first line of employees that patients and visitors interact with, so they must be friendly, professional, and helpful to the patients and visitors. They are responsible for answering and routing calls, greeting patients and visitors, handling inquiries from the public, and providing information related to the health center. They also fill a minor security role by monitoring access to the building by patients and/or visitors. The position requires the ability to interact well with patients, visitors, and staff members and to remain calm under stress. This position will be the 9am to 6pm shift.
Receptionist’s duties include but are not limited to:
· Handles confidential matters/information concerning clinic policies and practices in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
· Translate patients medical/dental/behavioral health needs accurately to the provider, and vice versa.
· Verify money box morning and evening
· Complete daily checklist and chart audits
· Communicating with customers/patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner at all interactions
· Complete proper scheduling of appointments and use of the patient wait list
· Registering and checking out patients
· Set up computer data to complete daily requirements/tasks
· Answering multi-line telephone system, in a timely and polite manner.
· Accurately taking and conveying messages to correct receiving party
· Identify and calculate patient sliding fee qualifications and maintain accurate documentation to support records
· Collecting patient payments
· Preparing collected funds/batches for deposits and daily drawer close out
· Ensuring that all patients’ insurance coverage information is up to date
· Maintain and update patient records
· File demographic documentation into patients’ charts
· General office support and errands as needed
· Maintain a clean and professional work area and lobby
· Assist with special projects as requested
· Rotating between the various center locations as deemed necessary by supervisor
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Maintain personal attendance and punctuality
· Distribute patient surveys
· Ensure patients are signed up for e-statements and patient portal
· Using various tools to check eligibility of patient’s insurance
· Maintains a clean, professional appearance consistently

Pay: From $13.34 per hour
