Job Summary:
This position is for a high volume nephrology office in Northwest Oklahoma City. The ideal candidate is responsible for profressional and courtous interactions with patients, vendors and guests in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. Their duties include scheduling patient appointments according to Doctor availability, explaining intake forms to new patients, collecting copays and monies owed on account at check in. All other duties assigned by Practice Manger and/or Clinic Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Checking patients in/out and rescheduling appointments
- Collecting copayments and outstanding account balances
- Confirming proper documentation is in patient charts
- Greets and directs all patients within the practice
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information at each visit.
- Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including insurance cards, picture ids and medical records.
- Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
- Schedules follow up appointments after completion of patient visit.
- Assist with maintaining office cleanliness.
- Call and reschedule telemedicine appointment
- Completing end of day task and ensuring cash drawer is balanced
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years clerical experience in a clinic setting
- 1-2 years EHR/EMR experience
- Familiar with Medical Terminology
- Ability to use general office equipment
- High skill level of multi-tasking
- Basic understanding of health insurance benefits
