Receptionist, Full Time, Medical Office

Family Wellness Center of Norman is hiring for a Full Time position as a receptionist clerk in our outpatient mental health office in Norman, Oklahoma. Applicant must be dependable, efficient, and able to work with sometimes difficult patients. We are open Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, closed most federal holidays. This Full Time position requires 40 hours per week during our normal business hours. Benefits available after a 90 day training period.

Requirements

Required to maintain reliable transportation, appropriate dress attire or scrubs, punctuality, appropriate demeanor with or around patients, adhere to HIPAA regulations, maintain data entry accuracy, proficiency on the computer, implement workflow, be team oriented and self-motivated.

Duties

• Checking in or out patients
• Getting accurate and updated information for consent forms, demographic information, vital signs, medications, allergies, etc.
• Checking insurance eligibility daily, getting payment information ready prior to appointment, and taking payments
• Making sure waiting rooms, desk area, and high volume areas are clean and presentable
• Implementing plan items; Sending prescription refills, referrals, medical record requests, lab orders, diagnostic imaging orders, insurance pre-authorizations, telephone/web messages
• Scanning in documents and attaching them to patient's documents in chart for review
• Collecting or sending orders for lab and x-rays
• General clerical duties such as emailing, phone calls, printing, faxing, etc.
• Other tasks may be given or requested of you in addition to these duties. Job responsibilities are subject to change in order to maintain team coordination, effective workflow, and to make each team member’s workload manageable.
