Medical Receptionist
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the medical facility
- Answer phone calls and verify appointments for patients
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Enter patient referrals into EMR system
- Creating patient charts for surgery days
- Reminder calls to patients/reps
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations - Assisting the administrator in the day-to-day operations.
This person will cross trained to help on surgery days with running the C-arm, scrub tech and instrument tech.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to multi-task
- Have to ability to adapt to change in a moment’s notice
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
