Medical Receptionist

Our office is looking for a friendly, hardworking, enthusiastic new member to our team! We are a busy optometric practice in a great location in Silverlake/Los Feliz area. Experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but not required. All staff are cross-trained and there is potential to grow. Spanish-speaking is a plus.

Requirements:

Desired qualifications:

• Ability to speak Spanish
• Familiarity with medical terminology and medical billing in an optometric setting
• Experience using electronic health records (specifically MaximEyes)
• Working knowledge of optics

Expected duties:

• Schedule and confirm appointments; maintain schedule
• Answer all incoming phone calls, check voicemails and respond accordingly
• Contact patients for glasses and contacts pick-ups
• Verify insurance eligibility, both medical and vision
• Respond to emails and maintain online reputation sites
• Pre-testing patients and preparing charts for the doctor

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate, some college preferred, certificate or degree
