Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a BILINGUAL (English/Spanish/Portuguese) Medical Receptionist who will work on a multidisciplinary team in a pediatric primary care setting. S/he will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and support tasks for the practice. These tasks include scheduling, registration and insurance verifications. S/he should be comfortable with utilizing an Electronic Medical Record so that they can efficiently schedule and register patients. This candidate should be passionate about providing patient-centered care and should be willing to make quality improvements to best serve their pediatric patients.

Summary of Duties:

- Works closely with the electronic medical record (Epic) to schedule appointments, register new patients by collecting demographics, insurance and billing information

- Answers phone calls from patients/parents and helps answer a variety of questions

-Provides information to callers and transfers calls as needed to appropriate staff/departments

-Performs day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties, including but not limited to: copying, scanning, filing, faxing and data entry

-Welcomes and greets patients to the practice in a manner that is helpful and friendly

-Maintains patient waiting areas, office files, as well as front desk areas in an organized manner

-Manages patient documents and communicates patients' needs to their provider

- Engages in various educational as well as professional development trainings to enhance their ability to provide effective, efficient and quality care

*Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred, but not required. Medical office experience is required (Epic is preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
