Our Plainville office is seeking a full time experienced Medical Receptionist.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check patients in for appointments, verify their demographic information, and update any changes in their records.
- Collect necessary documents and forms from patients, such as as insurance information and consent forms.
- Schedule appointments.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquires, and direct calls to the appropriate department.
- Process patient payments.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure a smooth flow of patients and communicate any delays.
- Maintain patients confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, additional education or certification in health care is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Excellent personal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficient in using computer system, electronic medical record (EMR) software, and basic office equipment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Familiarity with insurance processes.
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skill are essential for interacting with patients and staff.

- Confidentiality: Maintaining patient privacy and adhering to HIPAA regulations is a critical responsibility.
- Problem-Solving: The receptionists should be able to handle unexpected situations and resolve patient inquiries or issues effectively.
- Teamwork: Collaboration with medical staff and colleagues is essential for a smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
