Medical Office Front Desk
Job Summary: Performs administrative and general office duties according to the needs of the physicians, Administrator and Practice Manager. The Medical Office Front Desk is responsible for Front Desk activities including checking patients in & out, confirming appointments, scheduling appointments, collecting fees, customer service, posting & balancing daily work, and answering phones as needed.

Job Functions
- Answer all incoming calls and route them to appropriate personnel; take messages and send tasks, as necessary.
- Greeting all patients, vendors, and external customers.
- Registration of current and new patients
- Making and rescheduling patient appointments
- Collecting office visit fees, copayments, and deductibles from patients.
- Posting all payments collected and balancing daily work
- Pick up voicemail messages on a daily basis, every hour on the hour.
- Answering phones for the practice as needed what needs to be escalated to third party IT solution and/or NextGen.
- Scanning patient charts and other information as needed
- Any other tasks assigned by the physicians, administrator, or practice manager
Qualifications:
Education/Skills High School Diploma and medical certification or 2-years of college strongly preferred.
Work Experience: Two years’ experience working in a physician office with preferred experience in front and back office, EHR (specifically NEXTGEN), General IT knowledge, and HIPAA/OSHA/ regulatory compliance.
Mental Demands: Courtesy, diplomacy, and cooperation in dealing with physicians, visitors and staff members,ability to work under pressure, give attention to detail, use mental and visual alertness, considerable initiative and judgment involved in assuming responsibility for routine matters, and answering inquiries.
Physical and Environmental Demands: Must continuously listen, visualize, have dexterity and eye-hand coordination, ability for simple grasping, speed work. Must frequently, sit, squat, reach, use both right and left forearm rotation, use fingers on right and left hands, walk, and climb stairs. Must occasionally kneel, twist, have ability to grasp firmly, lift and carry in excess of 10 pounds, and push and pull in excess of 10 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
