Job Description
We are an established dermatology practice searching for a Medical Front Office/Patient Liaison who is devoted to helping our practice provide outstanding dermatology patient care.
The Medical Front Office/Patient Liaison is responsible for interfacing with patients, in-person and over the phone. As the first point of contact for patients seeking care at our practice, this position is of the utmost importance and requires the highest level of professionalism.
Principle Duties: The Medical Front Office/Patient Liaison is considered an essential part of our ability to provide high-quality dermatologic care. This role includes all administrative portions of the patient encounter, but is not limited to:
Duties:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally both in person and on the phone
- Prompt communication with patients and proper referral of questions to physicians
- Optimize provider schedules with efficient scheduling via electronic medical software
- Verify demographic and insurance information, checking insurance eligibility, and collecting patient payments
- Assisting with insurance billing and claims management
- Reassure patients by anticipating anxieties and calmly answering questions regarding upcoming procedures
- Facilitate communication between physicians and patients
- Assist with communication between physicians and referring providers
- Maintain office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report needed changes to improve workflow and efficiency
