Westerville Surgical Specialists is looking for a full time Front Desk Assistant/Scheduler to begin immediately. Monday: 8-4:30 pm
Tuesday: 8-6:00 pm
Wednesday: 8-4:30 pm
Thursday: 8-4:30 pm
Friday: 8-Noon
In our office the first point and last point of contact is the Front Desk Assistant/Scheduler. As first impressions are lasting, it is imperative our personnel portray patience, understanding and professionalism. Previous Medical Office experience a plus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Greets all incoming patients, verifies all demographic information and updates billing system with all applicable new/established patient's updates; verifying that all forms have been signed. Copies front and back of insurance cards and identification.
-Verify participating insurance plans, appropriate referral authorization and appropriate co-payment.
-Schedule patient appointments.
-Answer telephones; routes clinical calls and billing calls.
-Call patients for physician schedule changes. Reschedules patients as required and updates practice computer schedule.
-Calls each no-show patient, noting this in the computer system and in chart.
-Files medical records and charts.
-Distributes faxes and maintains fax supplies and equipment.
-Run daily schedule for the next day. Give physicians and staff copy of the schedule. Pull charts and records 3 days prior to appointment.
-Send requests for Medical Records prior to patient appointment.
-Complete Return to School/Work forms.
-Forward phones at end of day. Phones are to be taken off at 8:30 am every morning.
-Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality.
-Keeps office supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
-Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and efficiencies.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

-Experience in setting up file systems.
-Excellent organizational skills, scheduling, professionalism, confidentiality and teamwork.
Experience:
-One to two years practical experience in a medical office setting.
Education:
-High School education required. CMA preferred.
