SalaryEssential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Maintains all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders
- Greets patients and other visitors, answers, and routes calls to appropriate staff.
- Obtains and verifies patient insurance information, to include pre-certifications and pre-authorization for services and enters data in appropriate databases.
- Coordinates with managers and doctors to maximize the daily patient census.
- Collects and enters patient payments in databases.
- Be a team player in actively participating in staff meetings to support key functions within the Clinic.
- Ability to work with others and in a team environment
- Organizational Skills
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with eCW is plus though training can be provided
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Organization and time-management skills
- Basic math skills
- Attention to details
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects at the same time
Required Education, Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate’s degree preferred
- Two or more years of medical office administration experience and Insurance Verification.
