Job Description
- Reviews claims to ensure payer and CCI edit requirements are met prior to submission to the Practice’s clearinghouse.
- Addresses claim denials and swiftly resolves client billing inquiries and delinquent accounts.
- Processes client invoices.
- Posts insurance and client payments into the practice electronic medical record and reconciles account ledgers.
- Obtains and maintains authorizations.
- Provides coverage at the front desk as needed.
- Runs weekly and monthly reports, analyzes data and develops action plans to improve revenue and cash flow.
- Assists with special projects.
- All other duties as assigned.
- AA Degree or higher. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with medical billing (preferably therapy billing).
- Must be able to read and understand online eligibility/benefit information and EOBs/Remittance Advice.
- Knowledge and adherence to the laws and ethics of health insurance billing and HIPAA.
- Proficient in modern office technology and computer programs including Electronic Medical Records, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, carry, push, pull, walk or run
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of an FBI Background Check.
- Negative TB test.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Rehab/Habilitative therapy billing experience.
- Medical, Dental and Vision.
