Part-time Medical assistant: All day Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with room for extra hours in the future!
The Medical Assistant will be responsible to perform a variety of basic medical, patient care and administrative activities to assist the provider in a primary care setting and patient care management. Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment; verify patient by name, age and date of birth; review electronic health record for immunizations and labs; perform and record vital signs in EHR; instruct patient in basic testing requirements and medical procedures; clean exam and treatment rooms after patient encounter.
- Administer vaccines and treatments as prescribed by provider. Accurately document immunization history in electronic health record.
- Collect and process lab specimens.
- Observe and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to provider.
- Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment
- Process lab sheets.
- Perform lab letters or phone follow-up for lab results and instructions per provider.
- Perform vaccine inventory and have knowledge of storage and vaccine handling process.
- Complete requests for school and medication forms.
- Communicate to assigned staff discrepancies in immunization history , labs, medications, etc.
- Schedule and perform Annual Wellness visits.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
Required 1 year experience as Medical Assistant
Required Skills/Knowledge
Basic math calculations.
Knowledge of examinations, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Medical equipment and medical terminology.
Experience with electronic medical records.
