The Medical Assistant position at Pinnacle will allow you to engage with the patient throughout their journey while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care.
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team at Dominion Fertility. This is a Full-time, benefits-eligible position, working 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with one weekend a month (8:00 am - 12:00 pm).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scan and prep nAble charts for patient visits in the EMR system
- Room patients and manage workflow so that physician schedule runs on time.
- Explain medical procedures to patients and assist physicians during procedures.
- Provide injection instructions to patients as needed, emphasizing correct and safe medication and non-intravenous injection techniques.
- Demonstrates understanding of established emergency procedures.
- Prepare patient paperwork/treatment calendars based on physician notes and review with the patient.
- Answer and triage clinical phone calls, create chart encounters and follow up with patients as needed.
- Call in or fax prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Clean and sterilize instruments using an autoclave or Cidexprocedures and log use appropriately.
- Prepare and stock exam and procedure rooms.
- Notate ultrasound measurements in patient charts and assist with handling specimens as required.
- Perform phlebotomy services as needed.
- Assists in cleaning work areas during and at the end of the shift.
- Maintains confidentiality of all facility and patient information as required by facility policy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s Degree in the medical field or Certification from an accredited medical assisting program
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital
- Fertility or Women’s health experience strongly preferred
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to empathize with others in stressful situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent computer skills and EMR experience
