Full Job Description
We are seeking full time and part-time Clinical Medical Assistants (MA) to become part of our team here at Casa Pediatrics. We are a Private Pediatrics medical practice located in Woodbridge, Virginia. The ideal candidates would be a compassionate, self-starters, able to multitask and provide a high level of patient care for our clients.
You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. MAs must be professional, empathetic, communicative, thorough, and committed to the highest degree of quality care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
· Direct patient care and support
o Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner (EMR management, medical record requests, prior authorizations, chart maintenance and digitization)
o Assist the Reception Desk with patient care coordination (answering phone calls, making appointments, confirming appointment times, answering patient questions)
o Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
o Escort patients to exam rooms
o Anticipate and fulfill doctor and patient needs, maintains medical records and communicates effectively with staff and others
o Perform nursing tasks under the direction of the registered nurse or authorized health care providers
o Interview patients and record medical history, take vital signs, and prepare patients for medical visits
o Conduct health/risk screening using standardized tools
o Collect laboratory specimens as ordered
o Assist providers in procedures using sterile or aseptic techniques
o Promote patient self-management by providing patient education, appointment reminders and support in collaboration with the care team
o Facilitate communication for patients and health care providers by providing translation or interpretation as needed
o Complete accurate EMR documentation of patient information and services provided
o Effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration as part of practice-wide care team
o Demonstrate curiosity and understanding of patient registration, administrative workflows and prior authorization processes
o Collaborate with the care team to conduct pre-visit planning and post-visit follow-up
o Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) projects and other related activities
o Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; and participating in team problem-solving
o Adapt to changes in practice operations, workflows and patient needs as they emerge
o Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
o High School Diploma and 2 years of work experience
o Associate degree preferred but not necessary
o Work experience in the health care field preferred
o Medical Assistant Certification Required
o Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
o Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
o Good problem-solving skills and interested in learning all aspects of the practice

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
