Malama Medical LLC, is seeking a personable, reliable, quick learner, think out of the box self-motivated individual, with front & backend medical office experience. We are a family-owned oriented medical practice environment, with a focus in Mental Health & Substance Abuse, located in the Baltimore, Maryland area.
Medical Receptionist Job Responsibilities:
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts by collecting necessary paperwork.
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Assists patients by answering patients’ questions,and maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records via EHR.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Assist with medical billing as needed.
- Data collection and entry. Experience with excel and spreadsheets a plus.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality. -Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Work Hours & Benefits
- Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
· Hybrid work schedule
· 1099 contract position
· 1 week paid annual vacation + 1 week paid sick leave.
· 40 hours annual paid sick leave
· $1200 annual childcare reimbursement
· Salary Range $18hr - $20hr
Medical Receptionist Skills / Qualifications:
· Previous experience as a medical receptionist or office assistant preferred.
· Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as ICANotes.
· Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
· Strong organizational skills, time management, flexibility, critical thinking/problem solving and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work well in a team environment.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- University/College degree is a plus
- Certifications & experience in lieu of college degree
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
- Experience working with ICANotes EHR preferred.
