Location: 340 Meadow Road Edison NJ 08817 (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract with possible to get extension or to hire
Timings: 7:00AM to 4:00 PM
OSHA PPE? If yes, what PPE? Yes, Steel toe shoes and Nomex. Hard hat, gloves, glasses will be provided by the site
Is there any site-specific training we need to be aware of? COP on site will be provided.

Basic Function
- This role focuses on supporting plant operation and reliability improvement efforts for both rotating and fixed assets at the site.
- Working in a team environment, it carries responsibility for implementing reliability best practices, developing, and optimizing preventive maintenance tasks, and supporting maintenance activities.
- The position interacts with other technical groups on site (process engineering, maintenance), corporate technical networks and peers, and vendors/suppliers as needed to resolve problems and improve plant reliability and performance.
- This position reports to the Reliability Manager.
- Provides technical support to both operations and maintenance.
- Supports the Maintenance-Operations Workflow Process (MOWP) by developing or reviewing rotating machinery and fixed equipment scope for routine maintenance.
- Leads or participates in investigations and performs RCFA as appropriate.
- Supports Bad Actor identification and elimination.
- Shepherds the implementation of reliability improvements through operating and maintenance disciplines or implementation of expense and capital projects.
- Supports Turnarounds and Capital/Expense projects through scope development, engineering package reviews, drawing reviews, installation, and commissioning.
- Provides direction to planning on the necessary spare parts required for new/modified equipment installations.
- Utilizes specific procedures, programs, and methods to ensure unit needs are met and maintained.
- Updates and maintain equipment files as needed.
- Provides input to create or change BOM's.
- Leads the development of discipline specific MOCs and participate in PHA & MOCs that require cross-functional review.
- Ensures that rotating equipment reliability threats that cause a process safety concern are mitigated in an effective manner.
- Ensures procedures are in place for construction and repairs to comply with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices.
- Monitor equipment performance and make improvement recommendations.
- Apply data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance issues
- Provide technical support/expertise within your discipline in the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets to minimize life cycle cost and maximize asset availability
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Systematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes:
- Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
- Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
- Apply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reliability improvement teams to guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, controls, and safety systems.
- Provide technical support within your discipline to production, maintenance, project, and process engineering groups.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with minimum of Eight years of experience in the chemical or refinery industry.
- Basic understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI)

- Experience providing day to day Rotating Equipment technical support to a manufacturing unit.
- Experience providing technical support for projects, turnarounds, and outages.
- Predictive (PdM) and preventive Maintenance (PM) concepts
- Can support Component failure analysis and Reliability data analysis techniques.

- Activities and duties will vary dependent upon functional area assigned.
- Activities may include but are not limited to: Discipline engineering lead: manage technical team for the discipline, provides expertise in defining technical requirements and complete design.
- Monitors the proper operation of mechanical equipment.
- Ensures proper maintenance to maximize reliability.
- Oversees the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Prepares designs, specifications and technical documentation for Mechanical Engineering projects.
- Designs mechanical equipment by interpreting process design.
- Participates in the selection of suppliers and contractors.
- Performs the evaluation and inspection of Mechanical Engineering projects to ensure that standards and requirements are met.
- Reviews vendor design and documentation.
- Tests the functionality of mechanical equipment.
- Works with engineering support and equipment providers to address equipment shortfalls; recommends modifications.
- Performs engineering duties; develops, designs, and tests mechanical devices.
- Writes technical reports, handbooks, and bulletins for use by staff or customers.
- Estimates time and cost to complete projects. Research designs and makes recommendations based on appearance, safety, budget, and function.
Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge.
- 10+ years of experience in the design of chemical plants and refineries, including furnaces, gas turbines, steam turbine design and thermal and combined cycle power plant system design.
- BS Degree P. E License.
