Job Summary
The Mechanical / Structural Designer will support the service personnel in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings. The Mechanical / Structural Designer will be able to work on simple Engineering Work Request and comply with all departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.
The Mechanical / Structural Designer will be responsible for checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the mechanical, piping, AND STRUCTURAL scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer’s requirements and Industrial Standards they produce.
The Mechanical / Structural Designer is expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and analysis of factual information.
The Designer will support the goals and programs established by the management team. These roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
• Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no supervision from Engineer.
• Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.
• Prepare layout drawings to customer to present the proposed equipment and the function of the equipment.
• Prepare and complete various Mechanical, Piping, Structural deliverable drawings and documents such as piping layout/general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping schedule, piping tie-point/ interface drawings, piping insulation details, structural general arrangement drawings, structural weld details /notes, structural connection detail drawings, foundation support details, equipment mounting / support details, pipe support details, weight / COG reports, manual valve list, HVAC ducting, instrumentation, flow diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams, pump alignment drawings, handrails / ladders, walkways, and stairs as per OSHA, platform and grating detailed drawings, etc.
• Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
• Prepare sequence drawing and procedure for Factory Acceptance Test.
• Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.
• Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms.
• Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.
• Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
• Provide “Lessons learned� feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures.
