Role and Responsibilities
Duties: Work with cross-functional teams to conduct customer deep-dive sessions, new technology introduction on OpenStack/Kubernetes VM/Container based RAN product line. Analyze customer requirements, them to system requirements and work with R&D for the high level solution approach/design. Responsible for technical management of new products and software releases to ensure that promised features are delivered with expected performance. Provide technical support for the pre-sales process and create compelling technical and commercial solutions to help achieve business objectives. Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations to Samsung sales team and customers. Support troubleshooting of oRAN interface issues in a multi-vendor deployment with vRAN solution. Assist Customer with troubleshooting of issues related to orchestration and integration 5G vRAN software in cloud platforms.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications and Network Engineering, or a related field and six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as Engineer III, System Structure Design or related occupation in virtualized RAN OAM functions. Of the 6 years must have included: (1) Experience with 3GPP systems, including Core, vRAN & O-RAN networks, architecture and protocols; (2) Experience in supporting 4G/5G RAN & O-RAN network deployment and commercial network; (3) Experience in vRAN (vCU/vDU) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV); (4) Experience in integration and troubleshooting 4G/5G NEs (Radios, vRAN) in cloud platforms; (5) Experience in 4G/5G technologies related RAN network deployments work flows and reviewing various engineering MOPs to identify missing gaps; (6) Experience with vRAN & FCAPS protocols, interfaces, purposes and use cases; (7) Experience in Automation & Orchestration frameworks, including ETSI MANO specifications, OASIS TOSCA, and ONAP; and (8) Experience in Openstack/VMWare/Kubernetes.
Travel Requirement: up to 10% domestic travel required.
