Senior Civil/Structural Designer

Position Overview:

The Senior Civil Designer is experienced working on projects of varying complexity and can perform tasks independently. The Senior Civil Designer works within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers to meet project objectives. The Senior Civil Designer is responsible for creating the site, plot, architectural, and grading plans, Civil/Structural plans, sections, details, 3D models, etc. for energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare 2D & 3D layouts, incorporating survey data to create models and/or sketches for conceptual and detailed designs using AutoCad
• Facilitate squad checks and lead model reviews using 3D review platform
• Incorporate redlines and collaborate on/check work performed by other designers and engineers
• Develop estimates, plans, forecasts, staffing requirements, progress reports, and design change notices
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities
• Other duties, as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Accredited two (2) year degree in technical field of study
• Minimum ten (10) years experience as a designer
• Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD 2D & 3D or related software
• Revit experience & skills preferred
• Familiarity with the latest ASCE and IBC design requirements
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal
• High level of personal integrity
• High levels of creativity, persistence, curiosity, and enthusiasm
• The candidate should be a self-starter, possess strong analytical skills, and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Strong computer skills (MS Office)
• Proficient in both written and spoken English
