M&E Specialist
Conservation International protects nature for the benefit of humanity. Through science, policy, fieldwork, and finance, we spotlight and secure the most important places in nature for the climate, biodiversity, and for people. With offices in 30 countries and projects in more than 100 countries, Conservation International partners with governments, companies, civil society, Indigenous peoples, and local communities to help people and nature thrive together.
POSITION SUMMARY - This position could be based in Seattle, WA (or US remote), Colombia, Mexico, Brazil (remote), Belgium, United Kingdom (Remote), Kenya, or South Africa
Conservation International seeks a skilled Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist (Fellow) to help develop and strengthen M&E systems and processes across our organization. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in the creation of a unified institutional M&E framework with the potential to evolve into a critical driver in CI's M&E evolution.
The M&E Specialist will bring together multiple CI teams including the Strategy and Impact, and the Project Delivery and Monitoring teams to support the standardization of M&E efforts across the organization and ensure that they are aligned with organizational goals and key performance indicators. A primary responsibility will be to optimize current monitoring and evaluation activities and processes by bringing together existing efforts to strengthen M&E frameworks, systems, and practices.
This position will report to the Senior Vice President for Strategy, Delivery and Field Partnerships in the Field Programs division. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record in contributing to the development of M&E frameworks and systems at an organizational level.
Please note: This is a two-year Fellowship role. Contingent on performance and funding, there is a strong likelihood that the role will evolve into a permanent position as a significant contributor to M&E transformation at CI.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure (for Seattle), working some days from the office and some remotely. Guidance will be shared during the interview process.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline).
  • 7 or more years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in a development or nonprofit sector.
  • Experience in developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and methodologies across the organizational or project level.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with data management and analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, or statistical packages).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience developing and delivering trainings, preferably in multicultural contexts.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Experience in developing country contexts.

Preferred
  • Domestic & international travel up to 20%.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Bahasa Indonesia.

To apply for this position please submit a resume and cover letter.

We are proud to have a diverse, global workforce where employment decisions are based on qualifications, experience, position requirements, business needs, market conditions, merit, and other legitimate nondiscriminatory factors.
As a science-based organization, CI follows CDC recommendations for COVID-19 and other vaccines.
