Job title: Outdoor Living Sales Specialist
Pay: Starting at $21 to $26 an hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Location: Bothell, Washington
The Outdoor Living Sales Specialist's main responsibility is providing sales assistance to all customers purchasing decking, railing, and Outdoor Living products. They should focus on offering solutions and guiding these customers through the selection and purchase process. They will do this through a combination of phone calls, emails, and in person meetings with customers. They will use company approved software to design decks and create material lists and estimates for customers. They will help customers throughout the whole sales process.
The Outdoor Sales Specialist should also work with the other store staff and support them in their efforts to drive sales and margin in this area. This would include coaching, training, and hands-on support as needed.
The Outdoor Living Sales Specialist will also be responsible for coordinating the cleaning and maintenance of all deck and railing displays. They will also be responsible for working with our vendors to ensure that all displays and literature are kept well stocked, organized, and up to date.
Directly reports to Yard Manager. Interacts daily with Yard Manager, Assistant Yard Manager, Lead Counter, Yard Supervisor (or Operation Lead), Inventory Specialist, Contractor Salespeople, delivery people and internal & external customers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years sales experience preferred
- Prior experience in building materials or deck designing experience preferred
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Must be able to type 30+ WPM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of building materials and their uses
- Specialized knowledge of deck, fence, patio, siding and associated Outdoor Living accessories
- Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business for PARR
- Ability to execute PARR selling strategies and initiatives
- Be able to master PARR selling principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of PARR purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
- Ability to aggressively pursue company's best interest when selling to customers
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to daily changing needs of customers and PARR
- Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals
- Must be flexible to different personality types and work habits, knowing that goals may be achieved in different ways

- Work with the Yard Manager to establish sales and margin goals, in the product line agreed upon, for the store.
- Should be a self-starter, exhibit the ability to work unsupervised, and be willing to take on greater responsibility as needed for the success of this area.

- Maintain deck displays of merchandise and literature
- Maintains clean and clutter free workspace
- Perform other related duties as assigned
The working conditions for the Deck Salesperson position are at one of PARR's retail locations at a sales counter or at a desk and on the sales floor interacting with potential and current customers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to drive a vehicle with clean driving record
- Both local and overnight travel may be required
