Job Title: Material Planner - Buyer
Location: Berkeley, CA (hybrid onsite when needed - remote
Start Date: Right Away
Salary - $35/hr. to $48/hr.

A Material Planner - Buyer full-time contract position is available with our pharmaceutical R&D client in Berkeley, CA. In this role you ensure material availability to support production schedules by managing material requirements planning, purchasing process and inventory management of raw materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Utilizing the global SAP system to create purchase orders
· Verify purchase orders for completeness and accuracy
· Tracking of open orders, ensure delivery is on time, expedite process when necessary
· Approve appropriate invoices for payment
· Coordination of construction contractor materials & supplies
· Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers
· Assess the risk factors when making buying/supply decisions,
· Produce monthly and quarterly reports on cost avoidance, value creation, financial savings, operational reporting, and compliance
Qualifications and requirements:
· Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
· B.S. degree in business administration or technical area of specialization
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP (purchasing modules)
· Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
· High ethical standards and customer service skills
· Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to change
· Strong networking skills to maintain working relationships and ensure effective teamwork
· Team player across entire organization
