We are excited to be hiring Associate Material Plannerto join theMedtronic Diabetes Operating Unit. In this role, you will be providing support to a Medtronic Diabetes clinical research study team. The Clinical Studies Support Coordinator III will independently perform diverse administrative and project duties.This position will be HYBRID at Northridge Facility

A Day in the Life 

Responsibilitiesmayincludethefollowingandotherdutiesmaybeassigned. 

The Associate Material Planner is responsible for supporting Clinical Operations Supply Chain Planning and Distribution activities to assure compliance with regulations and Medtronic standards, guidelines and policies.  Coordinate activities involving forecasting, procurement, inventory management.  Generate and distribute reports for study teams, investigational sites and management.  Issue investigation including resolution of action items.  Maintain documentation consistent with Medtronic standards, guidelines and policies. Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned in support of the Clinical Research department.  Basic understanding of Clinical Operations and systems desired (e.g., manufacturing/supply chain/sourcing management & distribution systems, clinical trial management reporting systems).  This position works with supervision in consort with the department and study management.

  • Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution

  • Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts that include functions such as warehousing, shop and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules.

  • Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements

  • Contribute to the device and supplies management process (Forecasting, procurement, inventory management, new product set up and release, etc.) according to standard operating procedures

  • Collaborate with the cross-functional project team, including Core Teams, Project Management Office, R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, IT, global manufacturing facilities in the fulfillment of product planning and sourcing strategies

  • Supports integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers

  • Plans and analyzes activities related to the timely planning of production materials.

  • Supports the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and material control systems

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 6 months' experience in the healthcare industry (i.e. medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech)

  • Experience working on projects/programs (i.e., project/program management)

Desired/ Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical device clinical trials/clinical trial setting

  • Experience with Operations/Supply Chain/ Sales Distribution/Customer Service experience 

  • Familiarity of Operations processes

  • Basic understanding of Operations systems (e.g., manufacturing/supply chain management & distribution systems, clinical trial management systems, & reporting systems) (i.e., SAP,  Access)

  • Experience with planning, inventory & distribution management systems (e.g., SAP )

  • Experience in Project management and database systems (e.g., Oracle, MS Project, Access, Agile)

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets applications (e.g., MS Word and Excel)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, technical and problem solving skills

  • Able to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and specifications

  • Able to work effectively, independently and on cross-functional teams

  • Able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals effectively

  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity

  • Ability to facilitate project coordination

  • Experience with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory and/or compliance guidelines for clinical trials

  • Willing to be flexible with work hours
