Eight Black, a privately owned transportation and security business, is seeking applicants to join our team as a Marketing & Social Media Manager. The person selected must have previous experience in a small to midsize entrepreneurial business environment, as well as producing pertinent, interesting, and creative content for a variety of digital platforms.
The Marketing & Social Media Manager will create and distribute content in various formats across multiple channels with the goal of enhancing our brands and driving digital follower expansion. The company uses email extensively and already generates a successful revenue stream via this channel. The selected candidate will continue to drive this and introduce affiliate marketing opportunities where relevant and appropriate.
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Job Status: W2 Exempt, Full Time
Start Date: January 2024
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days/week remote & others based out of Longmont, CO office)
Scope of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Help develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets
- Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration
- Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets
- Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities
- Produce and edit photo and video content
- Create and curate both written and visual content for our digital site and Social Media platforms
- Design branded physical memorabilia
- Assist with proofreading or editing other content before publishing
- Perform background research as needed
- Review live content monthly and create reports outlining success rates
- Provide weekly Social Media and marketing reports to CIO and CEO
- Other duties as assigned by CIO and/or CEO
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role
- Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
- Experience with video editing with Adobe Premier or an equivalent software platform
- Experience with surface level web development and tools (WordPress, HTML, CSS) is preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms such as MailChimp or equivalent and Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn
- Solid understanding of affiliate marketing programs
- Graphic design experience
- Familiarity with photography and videography for use in social graphics and content.
- An understanding of the best use practices for Social Media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
- A firm understanding of video copyright laws and YouTubes terms of service
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices preferred

- Proven ability to communicate with tact, clarity, and accuracy.
- Excellent proofreading skills, and ability to translate technical information, and convey it to a lay audience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without supervision
- Someone who enjoys building relationships with customers and coworkers
- Organizational, as well as computer skills are also required
Scheduling & Period of Performance
- Monday to Friday with flexible hours based on job responsibilities
- Be available whenever positive via phone/text to be contacted by ELT outside of working hours, as necessary
Salary & Compensation Package
- Total Yearly Compensation Potential: $75,000
- $55,000 base salary
- $20,000 Bonus Potential ($5000 per quarter) based on KPIs
