As we expand the breadth of our data footprint across the company, Payscale is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence, supporting the Go-To-Market organization. As a member of the GTM Revenue Operations function, you will work with cross-functional teams to organize and shape data, surface insights, and recommend actions that will drive business decisions. While this role will support all GTM teams, the primary stakeholders will be leaders within the Customer Experience (CX) org including onboarding, professional services, and support functions. You will play an instrumental role in supporting teams that ensure customers are receiving maximum and sustained value from our products from the very beginning of our relationship.
The ideal candidate understands the SaaS business model and typical customer journey, has experience and comfort with managing imperfect and/or unorganized data, and has the technical and business skill to curate scorecards and stories which help us understand trends in the business. This role will partner with the broader Business Intelligence team to further democratize and scale our use of data, including enabling stakeholders and end-users to use data more effectively in day-to-day interactions with reps. This is a first of its kind BI role and you will have the autonomy and empowerment to evolve the data landscape within CX, transforming the effectiveness and efficiency with which customers begin their Payscale journey post-sale.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the GTM organization (~80% of time allocated to the CX org) by empowering decision making through data mining, reporting, insights, and storytelling
  • Serve as a business analyst to understand, document, and bring to life data requirements from key stakeholders such as our SVP, Customer Experience and other members of the CX leadership team
  • Lead the creation of dashboards and scorecards that provide insight into CX programs and initiatives impacting customer health and retention
  • Partner with the Customer Success and Account Management teams to evolve our Customer 360 and take a data-driven approach to reducing friction in expansion motions and handoffs to and from the CX org
  • Play a secondary role in supporting the Pre-sales, Sales, and Customer Success orgs with day-to-day data needs
  • Use tools such as Tableau, Excel, and Salesforce to conduct analysis and release reports and dashboards to key stakeholders that answer key business questions and challenge suboptimal processes
  • Build and maintain user friendly documentation around reporting use cases, criteria, potential pitfalls, etc.
  • Enable stakeholders and peers to understand and effectively use data at scale
  • Support business-wide data governance and data integrity across platforms
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support stakeholder business questions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analysis, or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience supporting a Go-To-Market function, ideally at a B2B SaaS company
  • Intermediate experience with SQL, data manipulation, data warehouses, and version control systems such as Git
  • An understanding or willingness to learn key SaaS metrics, especially those relevant to post-sales Customer Experience teams
  • Experience with Salesforce, including creating, maintaining, and scaling enterprise-level reports and dashboards · Experience with data visualization tools and knowledge of best practices (Tableau preferred)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to collaboratively develop solutions with multiple functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, project manage, and stay organized with a tool like Asana
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in storytelling and consulting both technical and non-technical stakeholders on data best practices
  • Willingness to share ideas, be a thought leader, and support other members of the team to uplevel their skills

Compensation 

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $174,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus of 10%. If you are hired at Payscale, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider any internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
