Job Description
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for assisting in brand management and content distribution strategies, and managing the overall execution of the communications goals. This position also serves as the company’s internal media relations expert, and creates and executes content to increase the visibility of MPC’s programs, special events, and activities to its visitors and the community at large.
What you will be doing:
- Propose, draft, publish, and maintain Magnolia’s messaging campaigns across a variety of digital & print communication methods, collaborating with other teams at MPC to ensure both the content created and the method of delivery matches intent and the voice of the brand; develops and publishes both internal and external newsletters; develops and publishes press releases; responds to media and visitor requests as needed
- Bring Magnolia’s online presence to life through immersive and visual media campaigns: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media content calendar that elevates the brand, drives visitation, and engages with seasonal moments and appropriate trends; utilizes Hootsuite to maximize opportunities; contributes new ideas to enhance the organization’s social presence
- Work closely with Magnolia’s Marketing Consultants to research and co-create marketing plans and campaigns: identify trends and translate internal data into actionable marketing plan proposals and modifications to achieve the company’s goals; takes initiative to act upon these opportunities to achieve results
- Works closely with Magnolia’s Guest Operations and Sales teams with creating copy for internal initiatives, objectives, and software platforms
Requirements
- You are wildly passionate about creating lasting, positive impressions through visual and written storytelling, are positive and full of energy, and a wickedly creative problem-solver
- You’ve got 3-5+ years’ experience in Marketing, with (preferably) 3+ years’ experience working in Hospitality. Event Marketing experience is a plus!
- You have experience developing, posting, and managing content on various media outlets and social media accounts for a well-established company that engages viewers
- You understand that effective marketing and communication strategies involves a great deal of prioritizing and organization, so you’re great and drilling tasks down to the actions of what really matters and executing them
- You understand the importance of engagement through posting and/or delivering content online, so you’re attentive and quick to respond to comments/questions as appropriate
