Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is looking to provide unique and valuable training and experience to an undergraduate or graduate student seeking a degree in public relations, journalism, corporate communications, mass communications, marketing or similar programs, including new media, digital communications and social media, through an internship in the Office of Communications.
The communications intern will work directly with a team of experienced communications professionals, subject-matter experts and SRNL leadership to develop content for social media, internal and external newsletters, the website and other public relations activities. Projects include interviewing SRNL employees to write blogs and articles for internal and external audiences, supporting live and hybrid events, creating short videos, and supporting social media campaigns. Design and photography skills using Adobe Creative Cloud are a plus. An interest in science writing is also a plus.
The ideal intern is a mature self-starter who is energized by a fast-paced work environment, exercises exceptional judgment, enjoys working on teams, has excellent attention to detail, and is an exceptional writer. The ideal intern must also be interested in communicating the important work SRNL does as a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory in protecting the environment, securing a clean energy future, serving our national defense, and reducing emerging nuclear threats.
