Description

Supports production as the top priority in planning/scheduling/ERP, CNC programming, and purchasing alternatives. Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Plans, schedules and releases work orders to the shop floor.

· Maintains the ERP system for new & existing part numbers and jobs by updating job routings, machining hours, build hours, and adding/revising notes.

· Prints routing paperwork/work orders for production in accordance with the schedule.

· Ensures production completes the shipping checklist prior to shipping.

· Creates CNC programs using Autodesk Fusion 360.

· Support outside vendors (purchasing) by creating CAD files upon request.

· Supports purchasing by identifying equivalent alternative parts for use when original is unavailable.

· Support expediting production floor orders as necessary to meet the schedule.

· Supports purchasing with alterative vendors for similar materials (presents it to engineering for approval).

· Responsible for reviewing product drawings and determining machine shop manufacturing requirements and routing sequences for fabrication and assembly.

· Work with custom specs to determine processing, tools/equipment time needed, and estimates hours required for completion of basic to complex machined items, fabrications and assemblies.

· Enters production planning data into custom manufacturing planning software.

· Determines/sets Production Work Order (WO) schedules and priority based on combination of customer need, material availability and internal resource capacity (labor and equipment).

· Releases WO’s and delivers documents to production floor and work center.

· Processes parts and Service requirements in a timely manner.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· 5 plus years of Manufacturing Engineering experience

· Knowledge and experience with electrical controls

· Ability to understand mechanical functions of machinery and troubleshoot solutions

· Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics

· Ability to program electrical controls

· Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls

· Ability to understand mechanical functions of equipment and troubleshoot mechanical functions

· Experienced with building custom machined products in a manufacturing setting and understanding of how parts are made.

· Understanding of CNC lathe, mills, drills, grinders, etc and what they do and how they operate.

· Ability to read drawings and determine what needs to happen in order for product to be built.

· Ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

· Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.

· High attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with different groups within the company.

· Experience operating CNC machines and shop tools major plus.

· Experience with safety training related to OSHA a plus.

· Experience with buying for manufacturing a plus.

· Computer skills: Ability to navigate in Windows. Ability to use basic/common Windows PC software such; as Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Project. Intermediate skills in MS Excel, including use of formulas, functions & charting. Experience using computer based MRP and/or ERP systems.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work experience

· AutoCAD experience

Experience:

· 5 years of manufacturing experience

· 3 years of CAM experience, Autodesk Fusion 360 is a plus.
