Position Overview: Nova Farms is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Director to lead our cannabis manufacturing operations in West Deptford, NJ. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer, the Manufacturing Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, driving process improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the manufacturing team.
Salary: 90,000-110,000
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive manufacturing strategies tailored specifically to cannabis production, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory standards.
- Direct and oversee all facets of cannabis manufacturing operations, including but not limited to production scheduling, inventory management, extraction processes, product formulation, packaging, and labeling.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, encompassing both state and federal laws governing cannabis production, packaging, and distribution.
- Stay abreast of emerging industry trends and technological advancements, actively identifying opportunities for process enhancement and innovation within the manufacturing domain.
- Spearhead the evaluation, adoption, and integration of novel manufacturing technologies and equipment aimed at bolstering efficiency, quality assurance, and workplace safety.
- Foster seamless collaboration and coordination across cross-functional teams, including cultivation, compliance, quality assurance, and supply chain, to optimize manufacturing operations.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections of manufacturing facilities to uphold compliance with standardized operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to systematically gauge manufacturing performance, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and drive operational optimization.
- Provide adept leadership and guidance during regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring unwavering compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Cultivate a culture of perpetual improvement and professional development through the implementation of comprehensive training initiatives, skills development programs, and performance evaluation protocols.
- Drive initiatives geared toward maximizing resource utilization, minimizing waste, and curbing manufacturing costs while upholding uncompromising standards for product quality and safety.
- Collaborate closely with research and development teams to facilitate the creation of new cannabis products and formulations, ensuring the scalability and viability of manufacturing processes.
- Serve as a pivotal liaison between manufacturing and senior management, furnishing regular updates on manufacturing performance, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing management, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven track record of 7-10 years in manufacturing management within the cannabis industry, showcasing adeptness in navigating the nuanced regulatory landscape of New Jersey's cannabis sector.
- Deep understanding of New Jersey's cannabis manufacturing regulations, including but not limited to compliance with state-specific standards and guidelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cannabis manufacturing processes tailored to meet New Jersey's regulatory requirements, encompassing extraction methodologies, product formulation, and packaging prerequisites. Proficiency in diverse extraction techniques such as CO2, ethanol, hydrocarbon, or solventless extraction is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership acumen and interpersonal prowess, capable of galvanizing and motivating teams within the confines of a highly regulated environment. Prior experience in managing teams within a cannabis manufacturing facility in New Jersey is preferred.
- Demonstrated history of implementing impactful process enhancements and driving operational efficiency within the framework of New Jersey's cannabis manufacturing regulations.
- Astute problem-solving abilities and analytical dexterity, coupled with a steadfast commitment to ensuring compliance and operational excellence within the parameters of New Jersey's regulatory framework.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication, with a proven ability to effectively engage stakeholders across all organizational echelons within the context of New Jersey's regulatory environment.
- Agility and adaptability are indispensable traits for thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment characterized by the ever-evolving regulatory mandates and market dynamics of New Jersey's cannabis industry.
