About the role:
Samsara is seeking a Manufacturing Design Engineer Intern to work with internal engineers on process improvements. You will be responsible for defining and implementing product and process improvements. This may include factory assembly and test improvements, quality improvements, as well as internal process development and enhancement. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate to multiple stakeholders throughout the development and implementation process.
This internship will be based in San Francisco.

In this role, you will:
- Participate in cross-functional teams to assist in process improvement projects.
- Work alongside experienced engineers to assist in the design and evaluation of manufacturing systems, equipment, and processes.
- Contribute to documenting procedures, instructions, and guidelines related to manufacturing processes.
- Support in analyzing production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement.
- Aid in the development and implementation of manufacturing procedures and standard operating processes.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a graduation date in 2025
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
