The Details:

 Location: Hybrid work Headquartered in Downtown Seattle

Work Schedule: Our typical business hours are 8:30-5:00 PT Monday-Friday.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

Category: Full-Time, FLSA Exempt, Regular, Non-Union

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of the day.

                                             

About the Position:

Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, the Managing Director of Equity and Learning will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. You will lead strategic initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace, drive cultural competence, and enhance staff development programs. This position requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of DEI principles, staff development strategies, and organizational dynamics.

 

You Will:

  • Be a strategic leader in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
    • Develop and implement caregiver-centric and staff-centric DEI strategies that align with the Benefits Group’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals;
    • Acts as a strategic partner to staff, leadership, multi-disciplinary DEI workgroups and Board of Directors to integrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) into all aspects of the business;
    • Mentor and coach leaders on emerging DEI trends and best practices, empowering them to lead in an environment where DEI is deeply ingrained in our culture;
    • Collaborate with departments to integrate DEI principles into all aspects of the services, benefits, and programs of the organization.
  • Use internal and external data to:
    • Identify opportunities, set goals and establish metrics to track the progress and effectiveness of DEI initiatives in alignment with the Benefits Group’s Caregiver and Staff Strategic goals;
    • Deliver routine updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), highlighting advancements and identifying opportunities for enhancement;
    • Leverage data to guide decision-making and adapt strategies as necessary.
  • Foster stakeholder engagement through collaboration and communication:
    • Collaborate with departmental leaders, committees, multidisciplinary workgroups and caregiver programs to define and operationalize a strategic vision for DEI across all teams;
    • Partner closely with leaders to identify opportunities for integrating diversity and inclusion concepts into existing programs, policies, and practices;
    • Drive DEI engagement and accountability for BG’s operations and culture.
  • Drive staff development through education and training:
    • Develop compelling and engaging initiatives, policies, tools and programs that empower leaders and employees to realize the benefits of inclusion within our organization;
    • Develop a comprehensive suite of programs, events, and resources that enrich our employee and community culture in DEI, fostering belonging, development, recruitment, recognition and retention;
    • Implement strategies that lead to a diverse leadership pipeline, development activities, onboarding programs and employee experience with the goal of increasing our retention of employees.
  • From time-to-time, perform other duties commensurate with the level of this position.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and substantial professional experience, showcasing a commitment to lifelong learning and development;
  • 8+ years of relevant progressive experience in comparable-sized enterprise;
  • 5+ year of a proven track record of advocating for DEI principles and successfully implementing and practicing DEI within an organization, including departments or teams, while in a leadership capacity, demonstrating a commitment to translating rhetoric into action in DEI initiatives;
  • Experience in promoting and implementing diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility strategies to ensure that traditionally marginalized populations have equal access to services, resources, and support.
  • 3+ years of experience leading learning and development programs to enhance education and staff development;
  • Experience with appropriately maintaining confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems by generating innovative ideas and approaches;
  • Experience in developing data-driven diversity programs and community engagement;
  • Expertise in evaluating DEI programs and initiatives, and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership on how to improve them;
  • Expertise in communication, change management, relationship management, and consultation with all levels in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize organizational and departmental strategic plan and vision, with an ability to be nimble and pivot when needed;
  • Highly skilled in navigating organizational complexity.

 It Will Be Great if You Have:

  • Master’s Degree;
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations;
  • Experience working with unions or collective bargaining;
  • Lived caregiving experience.

Salary Range:

  • $139,164.49 to $189,666.92

Benefits:

  • Fully Paid Medical, Dental and Vision;
  • 18 days PTO, 15 Sick days, 10 holidays, 1 floating holiday, 2 personal days and 1 week Winter Break;
