About the role:  
D-Wave is seeking a highly experienced Total Rewards expert to join our HR team. As the industry leader in Quantum Computing, we value the importance of recognizing and rewarding our employees' contributions.  

This role offers a unique opportunity to continue to shape our Total Rewards strategy and ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages that drive employee engagement and overall organizational success. In this role you will be able to work at a strategic level while also having the ability to roll up your sleeves. 
What you'll do:
    • Maintain, build, and educate the company's Total Rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, recognition, short and long-term incentives, and other reward programs 
    • Lead the management and maintenance of our internal HR systems and people analytics 
    • Conduct market research and analysis to ensure our compensation and benefits packages are competitive and aligned with industry standards and local regulations 
    • Take part in annual salary and market practice surveys 
    • Administer a broad range of HR and compensation programs, such as base salary structures, incentive plans, equity compensation, and executive compensation 
    • Collaborate with HR leadership and business units to review and recommend updates to compensation and benefits policies, ensuring alignment with business objectives 
    • Lead the annual salary review process, including budgeting, salary benchmarking, and performance-based pay adjustments 
    • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and delivering competitive and cost-effective benefit offerings 
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes related to Total Rewards, and recommend adjustments to our programs as needed 
    • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and expertise 
    • Analyze and interpret compensation and benefits data, generate reports, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement 
    • Partner cross-functionally on ad hoc compliance and strategic projects as needed 
What you'll bring:
    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred 
    • 5 + years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, compensation, or benefits roles, with a strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and market trends in both the US and Canada 
    • Solid knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits 
    • Experience designing and implementing compensation programs, including job evaluation methodologies, salary structures, and incentive plans 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, draw meaningful insights, and make data-driven recommendations 
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex Total Rewards concepts  
    • Proven ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, building strong relationships and driving consensus
    • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive compensation and benefits information 
    • Proficiency in HR systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
