JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Manager, NA Global Specialty Logistics will have a primary role to ensure company compliance with US customs and associated trade regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include establishment, maintenance, education, and enforcement of trade compliance policies and procedures the Import and Export Processes. They will also be for coordinating the Global Depot Network setup for all PCI Clinical Services Facilities. This individual and their team will be the main point of escalation for any depot related service issues and subject matter expert for depot strategy, capabilities, global logistics, cold-chain logistics, global shipping lanes, and import/export requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibility is to manage the North American Specialty Logistics team. Manage escalations of specific North American exports and to monitor depot performance metrics. Develop daily management and metrics on North American imports and exports.
- Position and department will be intimately involved with the project from initial quoting through the first shipment of material to the depot. They will continue to monitor the depot performance and address any issues that arise for the particular trial or in general.
- Position and department will work closely with Business Development during the quotation phase to identify the global depot strategy, associated costs and all necessary permits and licenses along with a timeline and information required for each item.
- Provide support to clients via meeting sand visits as a subject matter expert for Depots, Logistics, Cold-Chain, and Import/Export requirements.
- Support and attend client kick-off meetings, study close-out meetings, and facilitate study meetings throughout the execution phase of clinical studies where appropriate.
- Support the international movement of company materials by ensuring compliance with the requirements of customs authorities and other agencies that regulate imports and exports, including but not limited to CBP, FDA, USDA, CDC, BIS, Census, EPA, and F&W. Movements will include activities related to commercial, clinical, R&D and other programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a global harmonized approach to Depot Selection, Setup, and Management, supporting the ONE PCI initiatives across existing and future North American facilities.
- Oversee Interactive Response Technology vendors to design and implement importable order integration processes and shipment dispatch feedback loops.
- Ability to thrive in a high energy fast paced environment.
- Support auditing of global logistic providers, including but not limited to supply depots and transportation providers.
- Support PCI's Global Clinical Strategy and Business Development by creating and presenting marketing material as SME for global logistics.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
- Work closely with Procurement to ensure proper vendor management metrics and programs are in place for all global logistics partners and participate in QBRs.
- Attendance to work is an essential function of this position
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
- Position will have supervisory responsibility for training, delegation, and performance of the team International Logistics Administrators at each North American Site.
- Develop and delivery training on international related subject matter for Project Management and Business Development teams
- Consult with customers to determine required FDA, HTC, ECCN classifications and appropriate declared values in compliance with WTO guidelines
- Coordinate with contracted customs brokers to facilitate prompt and proper entries of all regulated products or products requiring formal entry declarations
- Coordinate with Business Development and Clinical Legal departments to ensure proper documentation for Importation services has been filed, and with Project Management to ensure billing operations are being carried out.
- Support Logistics Operations as a point of escalation for any courier issues or foreign clearance difficulties.
- Set and Achieve annual goals for Revenue and EBITDA.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training.
- College Level Mathematical Skills
- Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
- Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
- Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
- Ability to Travel
