Overview:
**This position is Remote. Applicants must reside in CA. Must also be available to come to campus approximately once a week to support on programming in-person.**

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
CHLA's Office of Training, Education, Career Planning and Development (TECPAD) supports research trainees across different career stages and at various academic levels. TECPAD supports educational programs and events, including seminars, workshops, symposia and poster sessions, in order to create forums for researchers to interact with, learn from one another and share ideas within our pediatric research community. Additionally, we provide assistance with research trainee onboarding and offer individualized support to early-career physician and clinical/translational scientists. TECPAD also manages an intramural funding program to support scientists at all career levels. The Programs Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the program activities assigned. Provides leadership in executing program objectives and projects, manages all administrative needs for postdoctoral fellows,Works closely with the TECPAD manager, Faculty Lead, and Faculty Director in strategic planning and program development to ensure growth and sustainability of the program activities.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
Required: 5+ years’ project management experience working in a similar capacity on a multi-site healthcare project, including coordination and budget development or equivalent combination of education and experience. Healthcare expertise. Onboarding/HR/Administrative support experience highly preferred. Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Personnel management and business planning experience. Proficiency in using PC-based spreadsheet and word processing applications. Knowledge of practices in health planning and management sufficient to manage and coordinate the operation of an academic office. Knowledge of fiscal management systems and techniques, human resource management practices including supervision and staff development. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision-making. Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, leadership, researchers and physicians, by providing an open, collaborative management approach, and a commitment to teamwork. Demonstrated verbal, written and intrpersonal skills. Evidence of a significant ability to relate effectively to physicians and a strong interest in supporting academic medicine. Skill in organizing work to achieve goals and objectives. Ability to collaborate and manage change in operational and business development areas. Ability to analyze and interpret data, research and prepare comprehensive reports, and monitor quality controls standards. Must have the ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies. A broad-based knowledge of and background in healthcare administration and academic medicine.

Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field required. MPH, MBA, MPA, in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare administration, public policy) preferred.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
