Manager Of Financial Reporting

Jack in the Box Inc. is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting who will be responsible for coordinating the preparation of the companys Financial Reporting submissions (i.e. 10-K and 10-Q) to the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and financials for purposes of reporting to debtholders (i.e. Securitization financials). Provides expertise and guidance to the accounting department regarding technical accounting issues. Advises on proper accounting procedures, applying proper internal controls, assisting with the Companys ongoing compliance with SEC, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches and keeps current on new technical accounting literature. Monitors SEC, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and other setting bodies for future standards applicable to the company. Provides technical accounting support; documents findings, prepares procedures, and recommendations on accounting issues such as lease accounting, asset impairment, goodwill impairment, debt transactions, segmentation and stock compensation. Works on other complex accounting transactions and projects as assigned. Reviews and advises management on accounting policies.
Coordinates the compilation and preparation of SEC financial statements and related disclosures for public reporting purposes in compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations. Manages the electronic filing process of the companys SEC financial reports with the Financial Reporting vendor (Workiva). Manages the XBRL reporting of Financial statements and footnotes on a quarterly basis. Coordinates the preparation of the financials for the purpose of reporting to debtholders (i.e. Securitization financials).
Oversees and reviews certain account reconciliations in the areas of stock-compensation, intercompany and certain allocations. Assists management with various financial statement account reviews to ensure recording is in accordance with GAAP standards to maintain the integrity of the financial statements. Prepares and analyzes the consolidated cash flow statements each period.
Maintains ongoing SOX 404 documentation and ensures company compliance, including documenting business process updates with cross-functional departments; identifying key controls and opportunities to improve processes; researching new effective automation processes from manual processes; partnering with internal audit to coordinate compliance testing process
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; Master's degree preferred. CPA required.
Experience 4-6 years advanced accounting and external Financial Reporting experience. Requires a minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience.

The range for this position is $124,500 - $177,300 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
