Job description

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented individual who will work on a variety of generator set types, including diesel and natural gas generator sets. This position requires strong technical, electrical, control system knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the reliable operation of the generator sets. Your expertise in electrical systems and mechanical components will ensure the operation and performance of the generators and providing uninterrupted power supply to our customers. Must be able to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity. Will have a positive, can-do attitude.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Knowledge of power generation systems.

· Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all problems with power generation equipment, including problems with generator controls AC and DC and engine control systems.

· Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.

· Instructions to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the mechanical assembly.

· Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required.

· Collaborate with other team members to understand project requirements.

· Performs basic testing, assembly and/or disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multimeter, power supply, LCD meter, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, calipers, wiring tools, relays, sensors, crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, volt meters, drills, and grinders, etc.

· Ability to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to promote a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of tools, equipment, and materials.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

· Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible.

· Mechanically inclined and highly skilled in using hand and power tools.

· Manage and respond to emails, texts, and phone calls in a professional and timely manner.

· Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision.

· Observe, identify, and relay critical information to co-workers/managers.

· Good oral and written expression and comprehension.

· Great problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

· Work in multiple software systems, including time entry, data entry, and ERP systems.

· Knowledge and use of various computer programs; MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.

· Knowledge of product flow in a manufacturing environment.

· Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy equipment.

· Multitask and work under tight deadlines.

· Honest, ethical and maintain confidentiality.

Education, Training, and Licensure Requirements:

· High school diploma, or GED.

· 1 year of mechanical assembly knowledge preferred.

· Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in the production environment.

· Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug test.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to learn testing to identify non-conforming conditions in equipment and product.

· Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching above shoulders, use of equipment including repetitive motions, and frequently pinching and/or gripping.

· Requires coordination, stamina, and good manual and finger dexterity (ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects); Ability to make precise coordinated movements.

· Must be physically able to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance, without restrictions.

· Hearing and talking skills in person and on phone.

· Frequently observe, detect, discern, and convey information. Specific abilities required by this job include near, far and color vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Normal vision range (with or without corrective eyewear). Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols 100% of the time.

Work Environment:

· Warehouse environment that is climate controlled.

· Exposure to the noise of engine sounds, power tools, and exhaust fumes.

· Must comply with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety glasses, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, and clothing.

· Must wear close-toe and close-heeled shoes, preferably with rubber soles at all times in the warehouse/production floor.

· May have exposure to all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow/ice.
