Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, the Manager of Creative Services leads the inhouse development and management of compelling communications materials to support Account Services, Sales & Marketing.
This role is responsible for the visual representation of the ComPsych corporate brand and for maintaining and consistently upholding all standards of brand identity. The Manager will work with members of many inhouse departments to develop and deliver high impact collateral to support both corporate initiatives and those of the customer. The Manager guides all projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the team of graphic designers and writers.
- Create and manage visual branding guidelines and design standards. Strive to coordinate the appearance of all print materials, use of logo, fonts, color palette and maintain an updated visual style guide.
- Provide companywide strategic and tactical input to corporate branding and identity.
- Work closely with Production Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Art direct team on a wide variety of deliverables and translate business objectives into clear, creative strategies.
- Provide print quotes and work directly with vendors, managing timelines and final product.
- Meet with customers/key senior management to explain strategies and solutions.
- Proofread design work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative team.
- Hire, train and retain staff, providing timely reviews and continual mentoring.
- Identify new technologies/modalities to improve productivity and end-user engagement.
- Maintain monthly budget report detailing the status of each Creative Services general ledger account
- Manage updates to the Creative Services Style Guide, Written Style Guide and Creative Services Reference Guide.
- Creative, dynamic and forward-thinking individual with excellent people skills and a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated proficiency in creative conceptualization and tactical follow-through on a senior level
- Design and production experience in insurance, benefits, health care or ad agency environment preferred
- BFA/BA required, 10+ years experience in related field, 5+ years management experience
- Understanding of and experience in corporate branding, layout and typography in both print and digital media.
- Must possess an understanding of interactive communications and delivery systems, processes and user interface design as well as industry best practices
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and web interfaces
- Strong project management and critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Takes initiative to resolve issues and bring clarity to grey areas
- Resourcefulness: able to problem solve and find multiple design solutions, especially under narrow parameters or strict budget restraints
- Demonstrated ability to manage external vendors. Good negotiation skills.
- In-depth understanding of the terminology and processes associated with print production.
