Job Description:
SUMMARY
The Manager oversees and manages the organization, administration, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Audio/Video& Media Engineering Unit. The position provides effective technical leadershipand direction for operational planning and administration of specifications,design, installation and maintenance of college-wide A/V systems and events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hires, manages and conducts performance evaluations of support staff to ensure consistent, effectiveand efficient Media Engineering services
- Provides technical support for design, installation andmaintenance of the media technology in classrooms, labs, lecture halls,conference rooms and other media related systems college-wide
- Provides technical expertise to the college'scapital construction team by providing various system designs specific tocollege A/V project requirements
- Provides the technical expertise and professionalism required to support large scale live events for internal and external customers
- Manage and oversee the operation and maintenance of the college's digital video remote production vehicle
- Manages and oversees installs, maintenance and repairs the college's television production equipment, systems and studios
- Develops project timelines, coordinates staff and project outcomes
- Advises and works with the Executive Director of Television & Video Services to manage the coordination and completion of Media Engineering services & projects
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Associates Degree in related field or Technical School completion/certificate
- Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility and experience in media system design, installation, and operations
- Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility and experience in large scale A/V presentation and event design, installation, and operations
- Experience in the design, installation and maintenance of electronic classroom and lab equipment and systems
- Management experience
- Demonstrated experience with broadcast video systems and equipment

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor in media technology or related field
- Five years of progressive responsibility in management, operation and maintenance of a digital video remote production vehicle
- Ten years direct management, training and evaluation of support staff in an educational or corporate environment

- The administrative work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
- The technical work is performed on location that may include; classrooms, TV studios, auditoriums, large conference rooms, outdoor venues, etc.
- The administrative work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
- The technical work may require the ability to function in harsh environments (outdoors)
- Typically, the employee and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse, keyboard to type and hand tools. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of A/V equipment (up to 60lbs) such as projectors, switchers, speakers, cameras, etc.;
- Work may require walking and standing for long periods of time
- May require travel to attend meetings and conferences away from the worksite
- May be required to work evenings and weekends
