We have an opening for Mammography Technologist. This is a PT position consisting of 24 hours per week.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Mammography Technologist provides mammography services to patients in accordance with physician’s orders while providing excellent customer service. Prepares mammography rooms and diagnostic equipment. Perform high quality testing, operating equipment according to prescribed safety standards, and develop films. Exercise professional judgement and uphold medical ethics in performance of diagnostic services. Apply knowledge of principles of growth and development to identify requirements relative to age specific patients. Maintain strict patient and staff confidentiality. Comply with all regulations pertaining to mammography. (MQSA/ACR).

EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- Washington Radiologic Technologist certification required
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or recognized equivalent
- ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification required
- Must have or be able to obtain mammography certification
- BLS/CPR required
- Excellent knowledge of QA, QC, MQSA, ACR regulations and requirements
- Minimum of 1 year mammography experience preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Performs mammography images through clinical protocols and positions patient to best demonstrates anatomic area of interest, respecting comfort and ability.
2. Demonstrates knowledge to perform mammography through the use of radiological equipment.
3. Develops films in accordance with proper techniques.
4. Evaluates mammography images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
5. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide radiology services to all age groups served.
6. Provides patient education on procedures according to age-specific needs.
7. Facilitates patient’s cooperation and alleviates anxiety by addressing concerns.
8. Verifies appropriate procedure to be performed by checking physician’s orders, outpatient prescriptions, and prior reports.
9. Contacts physicians with discrepancies.
10. Demonstrates complete understanding of the contrast agents for the certain studies and prepares desired contrast media.
11. Other duties as assigned
