Position summary: Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the building, grounds and equipment.
These positions are available at all of our branches and is approx. 20 hours per week, including weekends.
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness of the YMCA facilities. Assist in creating a pleasant work environment for members and staff, realizing it to be part of our member service.
- Complete all regular scheduled custodial assignments as outlines; i.e.general cleaning and disinfecting of rest rooms and locker rooms, washing windows and mirrors, dusting/cleaning surfaces, collecting and removing rubbish, refilling dispensers, vacuuming and using necessary equipment (some motorized) to clean and maintain floor space.
- Follow YMCA established safety risk and management policies and procedures. Take proper safety precautions such as using a wet floor sign, keeping walkways open at all times and being aware of (and preventing obstacles causing) tripping hazards.
- Replace light bulbs and florescent tubes when needed
- Set up and breakdown meeting rooms as needed.
- Clean snow and debris from walkways as needed.
- Assist in painting in simple repair work.
- Perform other general maintenance duties as instructed.
- Complete required paperwork to evidence work completed.
- Cover weekend, evening and holiday shifts as needed.
- Arrive prepared for the scheduled shift, which includes arriving for duty 15 minutes prior, in proper attire and prepared for required concentration.
- Collaborate with Facilities Directorand take direction from this person also.
- Other duties as assigned
- Direct all major problems to the position supervisor; notify of need for repairs and additions and need of the need to order parts and other supplies

- Ability to travel to various GPYMCA locations to perform work assignments as needed.
Education and/or ExperienceHigh School (GED) Preferred.
