The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the equipment, machinery, and infrastructure within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the production process by minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the production team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and infrastructure to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work and competitive pricing for maintenance and repair services as requested by management.
Perform repairs and replacements of defective parts, components, or systems as needed.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and logs to track equipment performance and history.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Collaborate with production personnel to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Recommend and implement improvements to maintenance procedures, processes, and equipment to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of a proactive maintenance culture.
Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and technologies related to maintenance and repair.
Assist in training and mentoring maintenance staff as needed.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software and common office applications.
Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
