JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to perform general maintenance activities for the upkeep of the Center's physical plant and groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES (scope and complexity):

This position assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability for performing routine repairs and maintenance as requested with the knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical principles

This position works within the guidelines of ACC policies/procedures, State and Federal Laws, Rules, and Regulations.

To be successful in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or facility in repair.

The incumbent must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts.  Must be able to adapt to rapid change, and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations. 

The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in meaningful ways using center time care, e-mail, etc.  The incumbent must be able to use equipment in maintenance of building and grounds maintenance including tractors, mowers, generators, pumps,  bobcat.
 

CORE ACCOUNTIBILITIES (Essential Functions):

Recordkeeping:

• Accurately reports time care

Compliance:

• Provides care and service according to the established ACC policies and procedures, federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
• Respects and advocates for the protection of each individual's rights
• Remains current regarding training, licenses and certification requirements.
• Participates in the facility safety and infection control plan.
• Support and adheres to the OSHA and workforce safety state and federal guidelines.
• Reports needed repairs and maintenance of equipment and physical environment.

Program/Project Management:

• Assists in the development and implementation of departmental goals that are in alignment with the organizational strategic initiatives

Productivity:

• Effectively manages time and resources in the performance of their duties

Fiscal Responsibility:

• Assists the department in meeting the budget by being accountable for and being cost effective with the utilization and management of supplies, materials and property.

Communication:

• Effectively listens and communicates with students/clients, families, outside constituents and employees.
• Makes every effort to attend all department and all-staff meetings; Is responsible for obtaining information relayed at those meetings

Staff Development/Training

• Successfully completes all ACC training and educational requirements according to ACC policies. 

Define Actual functions that are fundamental to this position:

• Performs routine testing, monitoring, maintenance and repair of facility mechanical, electrical, electronic and plumbing systems and equipment
• Performs preventative maintenance activities

In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned, based upon ACC needs and or requirements.
