Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician for our plants in the mid river area. The sites are in Convent, Garyville, Norco, Luling and Taft, LA. The Mid river maintenance area consist of 4 Steam Methane Reformers (SMR), and 1 Hydrogen off gas facility. These sites provide Hydrogen via pipeline to refineries and chemical plants across Louisiana and Texas.
A background in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, pumps, reciprocating compressors, and mechanical equipment is essential for this position.
The basic function of this role is the responsibility for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as: centrifugal & reciprocating compressors, process pumps, gear drives, fans, vessels, and heat exchangers, all involving a variety of fluids and gasses in the Mid river maintenance area.
Applicants must have a background in rotating machinery and plant maintenance.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Must be team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.
- Strong personal safety philosophy.
- Knowledge of centrifugal and reciprocating compressor maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Machinery and rotating equipment knowledge (millwright skills)
- Take critical measurements on equipment using precision measuring tools and document them.
- Ability to work alone with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of pumps, gear drives, fans, vessels, and exchangers.
- Ability to work from heights and confined spaces.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Trade/Technical degree or apprenticeship in a related field is a plus but not required.
- Military service in a related field a plus but not required.
- Detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
