Position Summary
As a Maintenance Buyer Specialist, you will maintain the purchasing functions for stock, non-stock, consumable, and specialized parts for the Maintenance and Production Teams. You will be responsible for purchasing all CAPEX and other manufacturing -related purchasing, as well as maintaining minimum stock levels and inventory in the storeroom. You’ll also manage new and existing vendor relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
- Obtaining quotes and ordering all parts and materials for all departments of the facility and assist when needed for other Buckman facilities
- Issue POs in Concur and in SAP for all purchases, and track and report accruals
- Aid in cost control by compiling maintenance management costs, adhering to competitive bidding practices, and identifying opportunities for parts standardization
- Develop and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate price and terms, optimize purchases based on service, lead time, cost. Provide feedback to vendors as appropriate
- Report on storeroom metrics including out of stock, over-max, inventory accuracy, etc.
- Reconcile invoices and track payments
- Act as a liaison for any accounting work that is needed
- Set up new vendors and contractors for invoicing in SAP and Concur
Qualifications
- 2 year college degree or equivalent college credit hours
- Previous experience with parts ordering and inventory management preferred
- SAP experience and working knowledge of maintenance parts including rotating equipment and instrumentation is a plus
