Maintenance Manager

The purpose of the Maintenance Manager is to oversee, direct and optimize the operation of, and communication between, all personnel within the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Manager must establish and maintain teams of dedicated Technicians, Supervisors, and Specialists that possess competency in their areas of work. Demonstrated growth in knowledge and effectiveness of the Maintenance Department will be rewarded with increased responsibilities and pay raises at the discretion of the Plant Engineer.

Responsibilities & Accountability Standards

1. Follow and Implement Directives from the Plant Engineer

• a. Enforce protocol/standards provided by Plant Engineer.
• b. Follow training/coaching provided by Plant Engineer.
• c. Communicate daily with Plant Engineer via regularly scheduled meetings.
• d. Identify problems/issues with current protocol/standards and provide solutions to Plant Engineer.
• e. Collaborate with Plant Engineer on the creation of new protocol/standards.
• f. Act in accordance with OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care) described in OSF Employee Manual.
• g. Collaborate with Plant Engineer on creating and maintaining a positive work environment using OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care).

2. Department Leadership

• a. Ensure all Maintenance-related protocols are followed by department personnel at all times.
• b. Communicate daily with Technicians, Supervisors and Specialists via regularly scheduled meetings.
• c. Assist Supervisors and Specialists with alignment of daily work schedules for all Technicians.
• d. Coordinate with other department managers for work being done in their respective facilities/zones when necessary.
• e. Coordinate/Collaborate with Engineering Manager on project work as needed.
• f. Assist Supervisors in resolving conflict between Technicians and other OSF personnel.
• g. Interview, hire, promote, and fire Maintenance personnel as needed.
• h. Conduct routine Performance Reviews of department personnel.
• i. Assist Supervisors, Technicians and Specialists in creating and maintaining a positive work environment using OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care).

3. Facility Maintenance Requests

• a. Ensure Maintenance Requests are diagnosed, repaired, or escalated in a timely manner.
• b. Assist Supervisors and Specialists with Maintenance Request prioritization and scheduling as needed.

4. Preventative Maintenance (PM)

• a. Assist Maintenance Planner with the creation and maintenance of the PM schedule utilizing CMMS.
• b. Assist Supervisors and Specialists with PM prioritization and scheduling as needed.
• c. Collaborate with Supervisors and Specialists to ensure that PM schedule is followed, and PMs are completed in a timely manner by Technicians.
• d. Resolve scheduling conflicts between departments allowing PMs to be completed.

5. System Repair & Improvement

• a. Optimize department operations to minimize downtime on all OSF systems by ensuring repairs are completed in a timely manner.
• b. Assist Supervisors and Specialists with repair prioritization and scheduling as needed.
• c. Supervise and assist Technicians with repairs to systems if necessary.

6. Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)

• a. Assist Supervisors and Specialists with data entry and generation within the CMMS as needed.
• b. Collaborate with Maintenance Planner and Specialists to ensure all data entered and generated from CMMS is accurate and correct.

7. Parts & Inventory Management

• a. Collaborate with Specialists to support all Parts & Inventory related activities.
• b. Ensure Specialists maintain a clean and safe working environment within the spare parts storage areas.

8. Engineering

• a. All project work directed by Engineering Manager.
• b. Coordinate with Supervisors and Specialists to assign Technicians to complete project work when needed.
• c. Collaborate with Engineering Manager to ensure Technicians understand how to properly operate and maintain new systems.
• d. Collaborate with Engineering Manager to provide suggestions for design/layout of new machinery and systems.

9. Continuing Education

• a. Create and schedule learning opportunities for Technicians to occur during downtime.
• b. Schedule training sessions for Technicians.
• c. Accommodate training and education requests from Supervisors, Specialists and Technicians as able, or as directed by Plant Engineer.
• d. Ensure Supervisors, Specialists and Technicians continue to actively grow their knowledge of Maintenance-related skills and techniques.

_ Qualifications_

• 5-10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production-based managerial/supervisory role required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (all disciplines) or similar technical field preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in the Food/Beverage Industry preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Basic Job Requirements

• Able to prove 18 years of age or older.
• Able to prove status as U.S. Citizen, legal migrant to the U.S., or permanent resident of the U.S.
• Able to work overtime/weekends (if necessary) to complete daily required tasks.
• Able to take direction and carry out orders.
• Able to communicate clearly.

Physical Job Requirements

• Able to stand and move on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift and move 1 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds from the floor.
• Able to squat, crouch, kneel, and reach repeatedly over the course of a working day.
• Able to operate in cold temperatures for extended periods of time (as low as 0°F).
• Able to operate hot temperatures for extended periods of time (as high as 120°F).

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
