Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of the manufacturing equipment and facility. You will oversee the maintenance team, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs. You will also participate in capital improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the maintenance team, including technicians who focus on mechanical and electrical functions.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the facility including all equipment and systems.
- Coordinate and manage repair and maintenance projects, including emergency repairs, breakdowns, upgrades, and renovations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and policies.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors for execution of maintenance work and advancements.
- Maintain and adhere to maintenance budget.
- Assist with engineering projects related to equipment installation and capital improvement.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Train and evaluate new hires on maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with other managers, supervisors, engineers, quality control staff, and customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of various types of manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience with project management techniques such as scope planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, quality control, etc.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
