POSITION SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of mill, industrial plant, or other establishment by performing the following duties personally.
POSTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews job orders to determine work priorities for staff.
- Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Interviews, hires, and trains maintenance professionals.
- Develops preventive maintenance programs and policies to ensure safety of all equipment and machinery.
- Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- May prepare department budget and monitor expenditure of funds in budget.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or other managerial role
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- Experience with programming PLCs
- Experience with Welding and Piping Assembly
- Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity
- High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years experience; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage
- Extensive Knowledge of CMMS (SAP preferred)
