Sunset West, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator to work in our Vista, CA location. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods, leather furniture, fabric-upholstered furniture and outdoor furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.
We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our warehouse team as a Logistics Coordinator. This candidate will collaborate with our warehouse leads to maximize product shipments and reach shipping goals.
Position Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipments of outbound and inbound freight, LTL and container.
- Responsible for the shipping and tagging of all freight, both retail and e-tail accounts.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips. Scan and file all paperwork into appropriate storage location as per company SOP’s.
- Monitor and review shipping reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Schedule and coordinate Will Call orders.
- Process “rush” orders ensuring shipping deadline is met.
- Schedule daily trailer swaps with current dispatch.
- Schedule container shipments.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments, carriers, vendors and co-workers to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and product.
- Maintain accurate inventory of shipping supplies ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with Team Leads to ensure quality standards are upheld.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings and efficiency enhancements within the shipping department.
- Mitigate and communicate any operational risks that may arise.
Candidate Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of progressive experience in shipping outbound goods
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.
- Comfortable with web-based customer portal navigation
- Enjoy fast paced and independent work.
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, onsite
Pay Range: $20.00-$25.00 per hour.
