Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Furniture Coordinator (WFC) is responsible for performing tasks related to receiving large donated merchandise, and processing it to the sales floor. In addition, the WFC is responsible for unloading, receiving, tagging and placing new merchandise into the warehouse on to the sales floor.
Job Status: Full time, Hourly, Non-exempt
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Handles receipt of large donated merchandise ensuring excellent customer service in the drop off area.
- Handles receipt of new furniture ensuring it is properly checked in, received, and tagged.
- Sorts donated merchandise by category, clean, price and move to the sales floor.
- Assists:
- With the maintenance of the new product warehouse ensuring merchandise is stocked by category and in the right area.
- Store staff in ensuring that as the merchandise is sold, it either gets tagged or is brought out for customer pick-up.
- Customers when on the sales floor, customer requests, or for merchandise pick-up.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the sales floor dusting, sweeping, and vacuuming as needed.
- Identifies product needs on the sales floor-communicate to the Warehouse Manager or Lead Warehouse Assistant.
- Cleans warehouse and restrooms as assigned.
- Helps maintain a safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic mathematical skills to include; adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating percentages.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based email applications.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Flexibility in schedule, weekends, and holidays are required.
- Bilingual/bicultural, preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of one year of dispatch and customer service experience.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience/knowledge of thrift store environment, preferred.
- Self-starting, self-motivating mindset, preferred.
- Bilingual/bicultural preferred.
